Commitment to Children's Safety

Your Child’s Safety – Our Highest Priority

At our centre, the safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority. We understand that families are placing their trust in us each day, and we take that responsibility seriously. From the moment a child arrives until the moment they are picked up, we are committed to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where they can feel protected, valued, and supported.

Our approach to safety is built into every aspect of our daily operations — from how we staff and supervise, to how we design and maintain our spaces. We believe that children learn best when they feel secure, and that’s why we’ve created a centre where transparency, vigilance, and care are at the core of everything we do. With our above-ratio staffing, clear sightlines across rooms, and strong policies in place, families can feel confident knowing their children are in a well-supervised, structured, and loving environment every day.

Above Ratio Staffing

We go well beyond the minimum regulatory requirements when it comes to staffing. At our centre, we consistently maintain staff-to-child ratios that are higher than the mandated standards, ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they deserve. By having more educators available at all times, we’re able to provide closer supervision, quicker response times, and stronger emotional support for every child in our care.

Higher staffing levels also allow our educators to build more meaningful relationships with each child, spend more time on individual learning and development, and better manage group dynamics in a calm, positive way. It means fewer distractions, more quality interactions, and a safer, more supportive learning environment overall. For families, it means peace of mind knowing that their child is always seen, heard, and well cared for.

Never Alone Policy

At our centre, your child’s safety and emotional security are our top priorities. That’s why we follow a strict “Never Alone” policy — no child is ever left in a room with only one educator. We ensure that a minimum of two educators are present in every room at all times, regardless of the number of children.

This approach not only meets safety best practices, but also provides an added layer of care and accountability. It allows our educators to better support each other, respond to children’s needs more effectively, and maintain consistent supervision during all routines — from playtime to nappy changes and mealtimes.

Having two educators present also creates a more nurturing and responsive environment, where children benefit from stronger social interactions, better emotional support, and enhanced learning opportunities. It ensures that there is always someone available to step in when needed, which is especially important during moments of distress, transition, or behavioural challenges.

Our families can feel confident knowing that their children are never left unattended, always supported, and constantly in the care of qualified, caring professionals working as a team.

CCTV Monitering

To support our strong commitment to safety and transparency, our centre is equipped with a comprehensive, high-quality CCTV system that covers all internal learning spaces, common areas, and external environments, including playgrounds and entry points.

This system is in place to provide an added layer of security and oversight, ensuring that every area of the centre is continuously monitored throughout the day. CCTV footage allows us to maintain high standards of supervision, support our educators in managing safe routines, and review any incidents should they occur — all while respecting the privacy and dignity of the children and staff.

For families, our CCTV coverage offers peace of mind, knowing that their children are learning and playing in a secure, closely monitored environment. It also reinforces our commitment to operating in a way that is open, transparent, and accountable.

While our number one focus is always on active supervision and preventative safety practices, CCTV acts as a valuable backup tool that supports staff training, incident reviews, and ongoing quality improvement. It’s just one of the many ways we work to create a safe, professional, and trustworthy space for your child to grow and thrive.

Our Safe Environment

Our centre is designed with both safety and connection in mind. With a licensed capacity of just 33 children, we proudly operate as a small, community-focused service where every child is known by name and treated as an individual. This smaller scale allows our educators to build strong relationships with each child and family, while providing more attentive supervision and personalised care.

Our open-plan layout further enhances this approach. The thoughtfully designed space ensures clear visibility across all rooms and shared areas, allowing educators to maintain constant supervision without barriers or blind spots. Whether children are playing, learning, or transitioning between activities, our team can see and support them at all times — creating a seamless, safe, and inclusive environment.

This combination of small centre size and open design promotes not only safety, but also a strong sense of belonging, collaboration, and calm. It’s a space where children are always within view, always supported, and always connected.
